Gragnola is a historic village in the municipality of Fivizzano and is located at the mouth of the beautiful Lucido valley, close to where it joins the Aulella. The medieval centre of the village was developed in the early 15th century as the Malaspina family increased their power base in Lunigiana. A medieval market with reenactments and sideshows (Tre Sere Nel Passato) takes place at the beginning of August every year. On a hill above the village can be seen the mighty Castello dell’Aquila.
